Cousland Local History Project

Picture
The Cousland Local History Project works to make this nationally significant archaeological and
historical information accessible to everyone and we have recently brought together all of the
items in our collection at the Cousland Community Heritage Hub in the smiddy cottage.

We started with a Millennium Project in 2000, thinking we could gather all there is to know
about Cousland in that year…..and we are still at it!

As well as organising externally funded projects such as The Lime Hutches Project in 2001 and
The Big Cousland Dig in 2008/9, the group has undertaken oral history projects,
given many talks on the history of the village, and taken part in national & local archaeology events
ecause of the importance of the village and our finds.

New members & volunteers are welcome.

Please watch for our meeting dates in The Cousland Courier or village website and come along........everyone is welcome!
